3-D Face Generator.

Wow!! This software is amazing. You can create for your 3D face with its help. Though its take a lot of time to build the 3-D face and uses a lot of memory. I created Amitabh Bachchan's 3-D face. I could not get a good side view of him, otherwise the face would have been more incredible.

Well I accept there are no hair on his head. Its a 3-D pic you can rotate it and see the 360 degree view. Obviously, the better the photos used, the better the 3-D face. I generated my face as well but since its not as good as i expected it to be thats why I cant show you that.
Now you would also like to generate your face. OK then go this website http://www.facegen.com/ and download the software. Install it. Open it and lick on photo fit and wizard will tell what to how to do next. Its quite easy. Otherwise, see this video.

A Great Idea - Navigate without clicking.

Navigating a webpage without clicking!! Yes. Initially its difficult to resist yourself from clicking but in fact its quite a cool thing. Clicking as we all know is very easy like switching- 'ON' or 'OFF'. On the other hand navigating without clicking is a bit difficult. For instance, to open some link you just click over it but in this case you have to hover the mouse arrow over the link and the link will be opened. I liked the idea very much. It was much quicker and cooler than clicking. Go to the website www.dontclick.it and see by yourself.

Google Chrome error 2.

When everyone is buzzing about chrome, I am just sitting and watching them. The reason is that I am unable to install chrome on my computer 'cause either my computer or chrome does not want to. Everytime I try to install it I am annoyed by this message.

"Installer encountered error 2."

Now what the hell is error no 2. There is no help anywhere. If anyone knows, help me.

Add Background Song/Music on your Orkut Profile.

Can I add background song on my orkut profile?
Well the answer is 'Yes'. Now you can add your favorite song on your profile and impress your buddies. What you have to do it simply follow this:

* go to 'add apps' on orkut.

*In the 'search applications' box enter the search string 'limeall'.

*Add this application ''Call Greetings play Music on your friend's phone'.

*After adding you will see the following window.

*At the left hand bottom of the image you can see the link " Add music to your profile's background". Click on that.

*You should see the following window:

Now you may select any song from the list and click on submit. This way you may add any background song to your profile. As soon someone visits your profile the song plays by itself. You may upload your own songs or music. For that you will have to register yourself on limeall.

Mozilla Firefox does not start up.....

Today I wasted many hours tackling with Mozilla Firefox which for unknown reasons had decided not to start. It began when I installed 3.01 version of it. Every time I started it up, the following annoying message was displayed,
"Could not initialize the browser's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behavior when accessing security features."
And then like a very humble person apologizes me," We are very sorry." A few days ago I had my PC infected by some latest, modified, out-of-database of my dear Kaspersky, virus-may be a trojan, worm or whatever. I had wasted a lot of time there to cop up with that. And now this, my dear Mozilla suddenly went crazy.

Well to rectify the problem the one and only method that I have is search on google. I always know that I am not the only person with that problem, there must be someone else too. With no surprise I got the solution. There I came to know about four possibilities behind that problem:

1. Low Disk Space - less than 1 MB
But, I had plenty of that, about 10GB.

2. File permission in your profile folder of Mozilla. The cert8.db must not be read only.
They told me that the profile folder path is C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla \Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ , but it was not. Actually it is C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default.
So I checked for cert8.db. It was not there at all!!!

3. Corrupted file cert8.db. It was instructed to delete it and restart the firefox. since I had no file by this name at all, it was useless.

4. New Profile :Your settings may have become corrupted due to changes in your system or a lack of hard drive space at one point. Create a new profile with the Profile Manager.
I did the same but still no luck. The problem was still there.

I installed and uninstalled different versions of mozilla again and again in idiotically different ways.
Finally I got rid of this problem in some another way. I deleted the default profile and created a new one in the directory C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. Voila firefox was healthy once again. Till now its running fine. Though I still don't know who was the devil behind the scene. Why changing the directory solved the problem? Is there some virus still playing around? Well, somehow it solved my problem.

How to create an invisible folder?

Well an invisible folder is quite interesting. Its not like a hidden folder. You can not click and open an hidden folder until its not unhidden, but an invisible folder can be clicked and opened. Its just like an invisible object which can be touched and felt.
What you have to do is just this.
1. Make a new folder and rename it to 'Alt+0160'(pressing alt key type 0160)
[use num pad to type 0160 otherwise it wont work]
2. You will find that the name of the folder is invisible.
3. The next step is to make the folder icon invisible. To do that right click on the folder--->go to properties --->then customize tab---->click on change icon

4. choose the icon as shown in the above pic. The icon is invisible, can be seen as blue rectangle. click ok.

And you get an invisible folder. You can click on this folder and you can open it. You can put files inside this folder. See this pic below
Check the path in the address bar. Its F:\ \Hello World. There is a space between two back slashes. This space is the name of your invisible folder.

Add Background Image to Windows Explorer...........

If the white background of windows explorer bores you, you can easily put your unfavorite image in the background. This trick is nice one. See a screenshot of my explorer below.

What you have to do is just this much:
__Open your text editor and type the following:

iconarea_image="exact path of the image"
iconarea_text=0x00000000

*type the exact path to the image e.g. E:\wallpapers\frog\123.jpg
do not forget to put the extension of the image like .jpg, .gif etc

__save the file as desktop.ini in the folder whose background you want to change. Close it. Now change the attributes of the file to hidden( right click on the file ---> choose properties ---> check the option hidden)

__open command prompt. Run the following command:

Attrib +s "path of the folder where you have saved desktop.ini"

__ open the folder and see.

*You may copy the same desktop.ini to others folders and change their backgrounds.
*You can change the icon font color.
e.g. iconarea_text=0x00000000 gives black font color and iconarea_text=0x00ffffff gives white color.

I am going to have exams next monday. Exams!!!! you know, my end-sems and I had to watch 'Om Shanti Om'. Why? 'India ki sabse badi movie ka sabse bada set jo dekhna tha'. Indian Supercomputer 'EKA' - the Fourth Fastest

A giant step step by india for becoming the global IT power soon. An Indian supercomputer has been ranked fourth fastest in the world by an international conference for high performance computing held at Reno,US. This came true by an effort of Pune's Computational Research laboratories, a Tata subsidiary. And all that was without any Govt. support. This is the first time India could make its place in top 100.

The name of the supercomputer is EKA, after a sanskrit word 'one'. Its a Hewlett Packard Cluster Platform 3000 BL460c system.The computer has a speed of 117.9 teraflop, a teraflop being trillion calculations per second. It was developed at a cost of about $30 million. It uses the same Intel microchips as your PC or laptop uses but it has 1800 of them!

It is expected to help in areas of nanotechnology, seismic data processing and drug discovery.The list is generally dominated by technologies developed by the US, but this year, computers from India, Germany and Sweden were up at the top of the much-anticipated list.

Before EKA we had PARAM which could make upto 171th position. PARAM 10000 is in most of the premier institutes like Indian Institutes of Technology - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kanpur, Guwahati, Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad, Karanataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal and University of Roorkee, Roorkee. My institute, IIT kharagpur was the last to have it in 2001.

All the celebrations of Diwali are over. All those moments of joy are now written in our memories. Those good memories of our celebration in the college,we shall be remembering for our whole life. On Diwali, when people are uniting with their families, with their lovers, we kgpians are far away from our home. So, to compensate that, we are here -as a family, enjoying each n every moment with zeal. And ILLUMINATION reflects us. Its the way we celebrate Diwali,the festival of lights. All Halls in Kgp build vertical panels of bamboos, called as chattai, on which some drawings are made using Lamps(diyas). The preparation starts atleast one month before Diwali. So that the feel of enthusiasm don't fade away, it's celebrated in a competitive environment. A panel of judges visits each hall to evaluate the decoration. There are about 25000 thousand diyas which are lit in a short time of about five minutes. All halls strive to achieve the prestigious prize. The night gets more colourful when people living outside the campus visit. Besides that the most remarkable is Rangoli( the design or potrait made on the floor using powdered colours). You will enjoy it the most.

This is our life in IIT. KGP ka tempo high hai...........

The Speed Of Light .....

We all know that the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. You might also know that it was historically discovered by Roemer in 1675. BUT what they don't know is, the speed of light- the greatest speed ever known has already been mentioned in our VEDAS. I don't know how they calculated it. I dare not make any visualization how they did it. Whatever I know is this much that they can be none other than our rishis. The speed has been mentioned like this:
Sayana (1315-1387 A.D.) was a very famous Vedic scholar. He was the prime minister in the court of Emperor Bukka I and his successors of the Vijayanagara Empire. In his commentary on the following verse in the Rigveda he gives the value for the speed of light.

"O Sun! You see all, create brightness and travel very fast. You brighten the whole sky." Rigveda 1.50.4

Sayana comments: "It is remembered that Sun traverses 2,202 yojanas in half a nimesa."

It is to be noted that Bhatta Bhaskara (probably in 10th century) made the same statement in his commentary on Taittiriya Brahmana. He says this to be an old Puranic tradition.

Yojana is an ancient unit of length. Arthasastra defines it as being equal to 8,000 dhanus, which is equivalent to 9 miles. Nimesa is an ancient unit of time. One nimesa is equal to 16/75 seconds. Thus 2,202 yojanas in half a nimesa is equal to 185,794 miles per second after conversion. This is very close to the value of 186,000 miles per second for the speed of light. Why would Sayana call this the speed of the Sun? The speed of the Sun calculated by Indian astronomers was very small compared to this value. It turns out that Sayana was following the ancient Indian tradition of codifying the knowledge. In this code Sun represents light. The discovery of this code is described in the book “Vedic Physics: Scientific Origin of Hinduism”.

Thats just a glimpse into our Vedas .......... you won't believe it , they are beyond your knowledge.

Clipboard Hack Problem......

If you are using internet explorer ....... beware !! your clipboard data can be easily obtained by any site you visit. Can you see the line 'Observe it carefully' at the top of the page?. If you find your clipboard data up there ,you are most probably using Internet explorer and if not ,try opening this blog using IE . if you have copied something before opening this blog you will find it up there.We frequently use ctrl+c to copy text (like creditcard no. or any confidential data) and if IE is not set to stop this breaching, your copied data can be in the hand of others.
Surprised !! I was also surprised when i came to know about it. So never keep your sensitive data in the clipboard while surfing. Interestingly, this hack works only on internet explorer, and not on mozilla browser.

To avoid clipboard hacking problem, you can follow these steps:

Go to tools > internet options > security
Press the button 'custom level'
Find 'Allow paste operations via script' . Disable it.

Now the above hack wont work.

Many people are still unaware of this problem. So forward this to your friends and save them from online frauds.
